A Bit of background

Since 1994, the Henchman business has been the pioneer of safer hedge cutting platforms and garden ladders, launching it’s first model at RHS Chelsea over20 years ago.

The Platform Tripod Ladder is the latest success story on this journey.

Following a luckily not too serious fall whilst hedge cutting from a ladder, came the realisation that typical step ladders were never designed for garden or uneven terrain.

Father and son team, Mike and Tom Kitching, initially developed the first Wheeled Henchman platform for Tom’s GCSE woodwork project.

He scraped a C grade pass! With ongoing input from designers and engineers, the company now presents a broad range of products designed to be really useful, long-lasting and excellent value.

Henchman’s customers include several Royal households, the NHS, RHS, National Trust, 100’s of councils, schools, colleges, nationwide landscape gardeners and predominantly, tens of thousands of householders.

All appreciated in equal measure.

Thank you, customers!

Life at no. 27

For many of us our gardens have become even more important in recently, special spaces to escape into growing our own vegetables- there are few things in life as exciting as watching your seedlings pop, then grow into delicious food.

Whether it's a window box, raised beds in the back garden or an allotment we can all grow something, this is the year to give it a try and we are very proud to be supporting Life At No 27, a fantastic social enterprise looking to reach parts of the community who've never gardened before and educate them on the therapeutic benefits.
