What is a sherpascopic platform, and what can I use it for?
We think that a sherpascopic platform is a critical piece of equipment for tradespeople across all sectors. But what exactly is it, and how does it differ from other platforms on the market?
We are taking a closer look at sherpascopic platforms, and how models like our own All Terrain Telescopic Platform (ATTP) help professionals level up.
What is a sherpascopic platform?
A sherpascopic platform (also known as sherpascopic steps) is a durable, telescopic platform that bridges the gap between a step ladder and scaffolding. While features can vary, a sherpascopic platform generally comes with adjustable legs, a guard rail and a robust frame, enabling you to work safely at various heights. It’s a valuable addition to your toolkit, maximising efficiency for you and your teams - especially compared to traditional scaffold towers.
What is a sherpascopic platform used for?
Sherpascopic platforms are designed with versatility in mind. Here’s what you can use your platform for:
- Facilities management - be ready for all kinds of maintenance tasks with an adjustable multi-purpose platform.
- Hedge and tree maintenance - the ATTP can be adjusted to reach varying heights, no matter the terrain.
-
Painting and decorating - whether you’re painting external walls or installing decorative finishes indoors, the ATTP ensures you stay level at all times.
- Property maintenance and installations - take as long as required to complete work to the highest standard.
We at Henchman have recently taken sherpascopic platforms to new heights. Our new All Terrain Telescopic Platform (ATTP) is designed for (you guessed it) use on all terrains, giving you a stable surface to work from both indoors and out. It comes with features that make it safe and reliable, all of which are backed by its EN131-7 certification - the industry’s leading safety standard for mobile platform ladders.
Why use a sherpascopic platform?
The unrivalled versatility of a sherpascopic platform is just one of its benefits. Whether you’re cleaning windows throughout a property or setting up for events at multiple sites, this trusty kit will supercharge your day to day. Here’s why a sherpascopic platform can come in handy.
Regular transportation
When you’re working long hours and travelling from job to job, you need equipment that works as hard as you do. Sherpascopic platforms are ready for the road. The ATTP is built with a tensile aluminium frame designed to withstand bumps, regular use and heavy loads. It’s lightweight, collapsible and compact, quickly fitting into small vans without a roof rack.
The guardrail and wheels are tucked into the telescopic frame, leaving you with plenty of space inside your vehicle. As an example, the ATTP3 fits into a VW Caddy Cargo without fuss.
And when you’re not on the road, you can fold down your platform in seconds and hang it on the wall with our lockable ladder hooks - a simple, space-saving solution.
Maximising efficiency when on the job
Those few seconds spent climbing down and repositioning your ladder as you work may seem like nothing, but that time does add up. A work platform provides a larger workspace, so you can work in one space for longer, reaching over three sides thanks to a wide footprint.
Multi-purpose use
If you have multiple skills under your belt but don’t want the hassle of towing multiple ladders and equipment from site to site, then a sherpascopic platform can help. The reinforced legs can be individually adjusted to suit the job, no matter the terrain, while the auto-locking pins keep them locked in place at all times.
Choose from two models of the All Terrain Telescopic Platform, with working height ranges of:
- ATTP 3 Step: 150cm-330cm
- ATTP 5 Step: 210cm-430cm
Whether you’re reaching high ceilings, fixing roofs or setting up for an event, the ATTP is the only piece of equipment you need to work safely at height. And with a working limit of 150kg, you can use heavy tools and equipment for extended periods of time, and work overhead with confidence.
