Henchman launch Water Barrow as part of 2007 range

Article date: 05 February 2007

A rusting Victorian mobile water barrow discovered beneath nettles and brambles at the bottom of a garden was the inspiration for a modern replica being launched by Henchman.

Bought to life by Bevil Granville, the Victorian water barrow provides the perfect solution for water transportation around the garden. They are ideal for allotments, parts of the garden unreachable by hose and for taking drink to horses and livestock.

Inspired by the original Victorian design, the barrow retains a galvanized steel tub that has been re-designed to appeal to today’s multi-tasking gardener. Easier to manoeuvre around the garden thanks to hardwearing pneumatic tyres, the barrow carries a large volume of up to 26 gallons.

Tom Kitching, general manager, said: “Water conservation is at the forefront of most gardeners minds. The water barrel provides an easy solution that is practical as well as attractive and very easy to use. It is easily stored and can be used as and when required throughout the year to take water where you need it most.”

Both rain water and grey water can be stored within the barrow for greater water efficiency for the eco savvy gardener.

For larger gardens and estates, the barrow can be fitted onto a garden tractor for towing and can be used as a water storage device, meaning fewer trips to the tap to replenish watering cans.

Easy to disassemble, the frame can be dismantled as part of a space saving storage solution. A handy lid finishes the product off that allows the water inside to remain free of leaves and debris, and keeps the kids out.
