Henchman Launches innovative products to enable quick and effective Garden Recycling
Article date: 21 July 2006
Henchman Ltd, the company responsible for the pioneering range of Henchman safe hedge cutting platforms, has launched three brand new ranges of Barrow Trailers, Shredder Chippers and Rotating Compost Tumblers.
This versatile product mix is designed to help householders speed up the recycling process for kitchen and garden waste, by most importantly, using less time and effort. Each product forms part of the Henchman Organic cycle and comes in a range of sizes for greater flexibility and choice.
Ergonomically designed, the robust Henchman Barrow Trailer comes in three sizes: a massive 310 litre (400kg loaded capacity) model, a 250 litre version, and a smaller 175 litre barrow. Uniquely, the 250 and 175 models can convert between barrow and trailer (and back) even when fully loaded. Each version is centrally-balanced on two wheels - taking the weight on the axle, and not on a person's arms or back - and includes other innovative features such as a handy plant tray. All models make light work of outside chores, whether in the garden, stable yard, estate or smallholding.
Five versions of Shredder Chipper are available, including one electric-powered model. All feature a unique chopping method that exploits the natural weakness of the wood, thereby delivering shredded chips more suitable for rapid composting; this requires less powerful engines (therefore less fuel) causes less wear on the blades and gets through the work more quickly. The range is designed for heavy duty or light work, by professional gardeners or private householders.
There are four versions of the innovative ComposTumbler to suit most sizes of garden, including a patio model for smaller urban/courtyard gardens. The real benefit of the ComposTumbler is its ability to turn garden and kitchen waste into perfect, nutrient-rich compost in as little as 2-3 weeks, rather than the normal year-long process; a correct balance of material and just four or five rotations of the tumbler once per day is all it takes, thus ensuring all material spends time in the inner heat core.
The company aims to encourage more families to take a step towards self sustainability by demonstrating just how easy and economical it is to recycle more organic garden waste by using Henchman.
Commented Tom Kitching, General Manager of Henchman: "At a time when there is much debate in the UK about waste management, global warming and the dangers associated with both landfill and incineration of waste, the new Henchman range offers a simple and economic alternative for all household sizes. A significant amount of kitchen and garden waste can be recycled and fed back into the garden, thereby benefiting all the family and the environment."
