Henchman Ltd require payment in full in advance of dispatching your order. Payment by cheque (made payable to Henchman Ltd), or master card, visa, switch and maestro are accepted. American express is not accepted.
On orders taken in the post or over the phone Henchman will not take payment until the day your order is dispatched. For orders taken on line payment is taken at the time of order and we aim to dispatch within 48 hours. Henchman aims to keep stock at all times - should stock be unavailable for a period of time and payment already taken from an online order Henchman is happy, at your request, to put payment back into your account until dispatch.
We can provide businessess with a Pro Forma invoice on request and will intend to send a VAT sales receipt as standard to businessess. If you are not a business but want a receipt please ask for it at the time of ordering.
Standard delivery covers price list items to mainland UK destinations. Timescales vary between product ranges, but are typically 3 to 5 days from reciept of order and payment, assuming stock availability - we aim, and succeed over 90% of the time, to keep stock at all times and dispatch within 48 hours. Overnight and Saturday delivery incurrs additional charges. Overseas timescales and costs will vary. Please contact us for a quote.
Shredder delivery - Your order will typically be dispatched to your local service agent within 72 hours, on a next day service. Your service agent will call you within a week of his receipt of the unit (to allow him time to prepare the product), to make an arrangement for delivery to you at a convenient time. Maximum overall delivery time is approximately 2 weeks.
Tripod Ladders - As Tripod ladders are always dispatched on an overnight service, please provide in the comments section when ordering your top two dates preferred for delivery. If you are not in when delivery is attempted, the courier will provide contact details in order that an alternative can be arranged.
We will phone you or email you on the day of dispatch with details on how best to manage the process for delivery for the product you have ordered.
We suggest, if you might not be in during estimated arrival times, that you ring the courier for an estimated time of delivery. Further arrangments can be made with the courier at this point. If having read our instructions and spoken with the courier you would like any further assistance please contact us.
Do I have to be at home to receive the goods?
A signature from a responsible person is required as proof of delivery by our courier - it could be a reliable neighbour. The courier will leave a card requesting you contact them if they go to deliver and find no one in. Delivery can then be reattempted again. Please note neither the courier nor Henchman will cover the cost of re-attempting delivery more than twice.
Can I request the goods left unattended?
No, only with a written request from ourselves or the customer should the courier leave goods unattended. Please do not request goods left unattended. They will not be insured against theft or damgage however it was incurred. Customers requesting goods left unattended without Henchman's permission do so at their own risk.
Kindly inform us if the courier leaves goods unattended and unsigned for with out your written request.
Can goods be delivered overnight or on a Saturday?
Yes, but with an additional charge of approximately £25.00. This service requires booking prior to dispatch. Please contact us for details.
Delivery Problems
If you recieve no communication from Henchman within two weeks of placing your order please contact us.
If you have any problems recieving delivery firstly please ensure that you have read our letter/email containing guidance on how to manage the process, secondly please attempt to comunicate with the courier and if you can not get satisfactory answers from these two sources please contact us and we will be happy to help.
Delivery charges are now included in the unit price to mainland UK destinations, except for the Ridan Compost Tumbler which is charged at 50p per mile from our manufacturers west of Exeter. Standard delivery procedures vary for different product ranges but generally means a 3 day service.
Overnight, overseas and Saturday delivery options cost extra and require a quote from the office. Please contact us.
You may collect your order in a suitable vehicle from Henchmans' office in Hampshire between 9 am and 5 pm Monday to Friday. It may be possible to arrange a collection outside of these times by arrangement.
We ask and strongly advise you to call in advance to make a collection arrangement. We cannot otherwise guarantee stock availability from our office location - in which case delivery and delivery charges will need to be opted for.
Henchman respects the need to keep your data secure in accordance with our Data Protection Responsibilities. We do not sell or share our database with any third parties. We are happy to remove your details in accordance with Data Protection laws if requested by you to do so. Our website, payment processor (Protx), and banker (HSBC) are all secure and are all fully qualified and recognised to take the latest measures to secure your data during transaction.

Health and Safety
Henchman puts health and safety first. Henchman platforms conform to GPSR 1994 and to Working at Height Regulations 2005. All Henchman shredders conform to all required CE regulations. A brief summary of the relevant parts of these regulations can be read in the legislation section of our website.
Private householders are bound by Working At Height Regulations if they are paying anyone to work at any height in the home or garden and put themselves - as well as the operator - at risk if they provide unsuitable equipmet for workers to use.
There is always risk when working at height. A Henchman platform greatly reduces this risk. However it is essential that it is used properly and with common sense and awareness. Henchmans user guides prioritise safety. Please ensure that you and all users of our products read and understand the user guide carefully before starting work. Free extra copies can be obtained from the relevant product page on our website or by contacting Henchman Ltd.

We have tried our best to make sure all necessary product information is contained within our brochure and/or our website. Nevertheless there may be a variety of questions you might want clarification on - please ask us and we'll answer as quickly as possible and usually within a couple of hours at the most.
Photographs on our website have been taken at varying times since our launch 15 years ago. Photos are for general illustration only and it should not be assumed that current specifications match what is seen in every photo. Precise Specifications can be found on the specifications tables within each product page. If there is a particularly critical measurement you are considering we'd be happy to sanity check our publicised data for your peace of mind.
Henchman aim to keep stock of all items at all times in order to be able to dispatch within 48 hours on a 3 working day service. Should there be a delay of more than two weeks we will inform customers of the expected dispatch date.
If you anticipate needing a product for a particular job at a particular time it would be advisable to give us as much notice as you can. Customers are asked to ring in advance of visiting our offices, particularly if they would like to collect a product because not all stock is kept at the offices' premises all the time. We can not be responsible for losses incurred due to unavailability of product. We will do everything we can to avoid such situations.
All Henchman platforms are manufactured in the UK by fully qualified welders working for a company registered to the latest quality management systems - ISO 9001-2000.
All Henchman Barrows are manufactured in the UK under ISO 9001-2000.
All Rain Catchers are manufactured in the UK under ISO 9001-2000.
All Henchman Water Barrows are manufactured in the UK, under ISO conditions.
Henchman composters are manufactured in the USA under similar American standards. Over 250,000 composters have been sold world wide over a 25 year period.
Henchman shredders are manufactured in Belgium and conform to all strict European CE standards, whcih deal with quality and health and safety. Specific information is contained within the user guide supplied.
